Government House, May 4th, 1843.

With reference to my letter of yesterday's date regarding Land to be allotted for Cantonments on the Northern side of this Island, I have the honor to inform Your Lordship, that I had last Evening an opportunity of examining the ground immediately around "West Point Barracks", and that I am of opinion that a line drawn at right angles from the "Queen's Road" up to the base of the mountains (so as to exclude a location and Bungalow) ...
